A number of veterans face the long process of recovering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) - what we used to call “shell shock” after World War II and the Korean Conflict. It’s estimated that up to 40% suffer various levels of mental illness or have substance abuse issues to overcome. Unable to cope, hundreds have become homeless and their numbers are climbing rapidly.

In addition, many stress related, combat induced, and debilitating conditions have caused a number our veterans to fall victim of various substance abuse and behavioral maladies such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). These condition can be actively and effectively treated at several care facilities within our County.
